Tear

The goal of a tear strength test is to determine the force required a tear a material. Commonly applied to materials like fabrics, packaging,  paper, plastics, and rubber, it helps manufacturers select the most suitable materials for their application that offer excellent durability and tearing resistance.

Tear strength testing can be conducted on machines like the Elmendorf Tear Tester and universal testing apparatus, which provide a standardised method for assessing the tear resistance of various materials, including films, paper, and textiles.
