Melt Volume Rate

Melt Volume Rate (MVR) is the volumetric flow rate of molten polymer expressed in cubic centimeters per 10 minutes (cm3/10min). Plastic manufacturers and processers determine the MVR by conducting one of two standard tests — ASTM D1238 or ISO 1133.

AML’s MVR measuring instruments include the ART-MFi20 Advanced Melt Flow Indexer, which combines robust mechanical engineering with a sophisticated 7” touchscreen interface and a dedicated microprocessor. This ensures the plastic materials being tested are suitable for their intended application.
