Roughness & Porosity Tester (Bendtsen Method) BTD

Roughness & Porosity Tester (Bendtsen Method) BTD

Manufactured by Techlab Systems

This porosity and roughness tester machine uses the Bendtsen method to quickly and accurately measure and determine the roughness and porosity of paper.

The new design of the measuring head provides extra longevity, with a 10 cm² measuring area allowing for consistent and comparable results.

Benefits

  • Essential testing equipment for paper manufacturers, printing companies, etc.
  • Intuitive touch screen digital display.
  • CE marked.
  • Easy to use.
  • Safety of use.
  • Robust design.
  • No pressure switch is necessary, as air pressure is measured in the head, enabling direct control and recording of pressure changes.
  • Mini-air compressor included inside the instrument ensures a consistent air supply for reliable results.
  • Paper and packaging test equipment calibration service available.

Applications

  • Paper
  • Board

Bendtsen Measurement Process

To perform Bendtsen Roughness measurements, the paper or cardboard sample is placed on a glass plate (supplied with the equipment), then the smoothness measurement head is carefully placed on the sample. After 4- 5 seconds the value can be read on the Touch Screen digital display

The Bendtsen Porosity measurement is measured as the air flow that passes through the sample through a surface of 10 cm2. To measure the porosity, the sample is placed in the test area of the porosity measurement head, Next press the button closing the jaws and in the same way as in the Smoothness, you can read the porosity on the touch screen digital display corresponding to the air flow that passes through the 10 cm2 of the sample.
