Available Onsite & Offsite
Force plays a critical role in our everyday lives. For example, when you push or pull a lever, or turn a nut with a torque wrench. This applied force can cause the object to speed up, lose momentum, change direction, or remain stationary.
Of course, force is also a common measuring parameter for businesses in industries as diverse as cranes and construction, to healthcare and port logistics. However, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of your force measurements is only possible with regular calibration of your force testing equipment.
AML Instruments has the capability to provide force calibrations from 0.01N to 3000 kN, whether at our force calibration laboratory or your business premises. We specialise in on-site calibration services, meaning we come to you — think minimum disruption, maximum uptime.
A range of off-site force calibration services are also available. Please scroll further down the page to find out more about AML’s force test calibration services, and how we can help you achieve accurate readings in your load cells, force gauges, and other force measuring devices.

Force calibration is a metrological process that tests the accuracy of your force measuring tools by comparing applied forces indicated by a measurement system under scrutiny to a calibration standard.
This gives you peace of mind that your force measurements are reliable, repeatable, and within accepted tolerances of accuracy.
We understand the importance of minimising downtime. That’s why we have engineers strategically sited throughout the UK to attend your facility and support your business with its force measurements, so you can get back up and running ASAP.
Details regarding our visit will be arranged beforehand between yourself and our customer service team. One of our experienced, Safe Contractor accredited engineers will then attend your facility on the agreed date (and time) to perform a force calibration service on your test equipment.
At our force calibration laboratory in Lincolnshire, our team regularly calibrate force measuring tools such as force gauges, load cells, and crane scales. With a standard turnaround time of five working days, we’ll send your calibrated equipment securely back to you via UPS, along with tracking details via email on the date of order shipment.
We also offer a 24-48 hour express service (requires pre-booking) and a “Calibrate While You Wait Service” (again, just give us a heads-up please, so we can check we have the necessary resources available). Don’t forget about our local calibration collection and drop-off service either — designed for businesses within a 35 mile radius of our location.
No matter which of our force calibration services you choose, you’ll receive a detailed calibration certificate, outlining the results and adjustments made during the calibration process. In most cases, we can also offer repair or replacement of defective force measuring instruments.
We always recommend referring to your instrument’s manual for recommended calibration intervals. Force testing equipment used daily or in harsh environments can accelerate instrument wear, resulting in more frequent calibration. If you’re unsure, please feel free to contact a member of our team for expert advice.
Below are some of the force measuring instruments we calibrate on a regular basis.
Please note: This list is not exhaustive.
Our force calibration services follow the highest standards and are fully traceable to National Standards though a UKAS calibration laboratory. Our team of skilled technicians has extensive experience in force calibration and use the very best force calibration equipment to deliver the lowest measurement uncertainties.
If you’re looking for specific force testing equipment or need more information on our force calibration services, please don’t hesitate to give us a tinkle.
