Washing Fastness Testers are used to perform a precisely controlled wash or dry clean to determine the colour fastness of a fabric. This is an essential test of colour fastness and is widely used by the fabric industry.

It works by using a stainless steel rotor to hold washpots on each of the four sides and rotates at a precisely controlled speed of 40 rpm (+/-2rpm). The appropriate test solution is used to act a solvent for the test.

To enable tests to both the AATCC and ISO standards, the Washing Fastness Tester has two baths to enable both tests to run independently and at the same time. Its has a option for either 12 or 6 washpots, each washpot / bath are independently controlled. This allows greatley faster test times. Each washpot records independently the test cycle e.g. test finished, door open and any alarms.
