ART-HPFS Hot Plate Thermal Film Shrinkage Apparatus
Manufactured by Artemis Instruments
This Thermal Film Shrinkage Apparatus uses a specialised “Hot Plate” method to provides fast and cost-effective evaluation of plastic film shrinkage.
Temperature is managed by a 1/16 DIN PID digital controller and a PT100 platinum resistance thermometer, maintaining a stable test environment within ±0.1 °C.
To compliment the apparatus, a 100mm x 100mm cutting template is supplied as standard, ensuring test specimens are accurately dimensioned before analysis.
Important: The apparatus is available in both 110-120V (60 Hz) and 220-240 (50 Hz) configurations to suit international power standards.
This apparatus utilises a specialised “Hot Plate” method to quantify the release of internal stresses (locked in during the manufacturing process) when a material is exposed to controlled thermal environments.
By plotting percentage shrinkage against specific temperatures, laboratories can gain critical insights into the thermal stability and performance of polymer films used throughout the flexible packaging and polymer film industries.
