“Measuring Success” since 2012.
Founded in 2012 by brothers Alex and David Leeson, AML Instruments is a family-owned, test equipment calibration, repair, and supply company. Alex, who previously was head engineer at Hanatek for five years, joined forces with David (who himself has a heavy background in metrology) to purchase Hanatek’s calibration business in March 2012.
Since the Hanatek acquisition, AML has grown into a significant player and trusted name in the test instrumentation and calibration industry. We specialise in providing on-site and off-site calibration services across a wide range of calibration disciplines, including dimensional, electrical, force, temperature, torque, and weighing scales and balances.
In addition, we’ve forged successful partnerships with some of the world’s leading test equipment manufacturers, such as Arctest, BINDER, Epsilon, ETI, Imetrum, Life Testing Machines, Mettler Toledo, Ohaus, Ray-Ran, Rhopoint Instruments, Technidyne, Techlab Systems, and TQC Sheen. This enables us to supply a vast selection of top-class measuring instruments to an ever-growing number of U.K. customers (and beyond) for performing a wide variety of tests.
Until David’s resignation as a Director in January 2024, the brothers used their combined 40+ years of calibration and metrology experience to train their team to a highly skilled and qualified level.
AML is now co-owned by Alex and his wife Rebecca, who was appointed Director in February 2025, with the company continuing to uphold our reputation for excellence and precision by investing in our business, people, equipment, facilities, and services. This has allowed us to deliver and maintain the highest levels of efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
We’re proud to hold UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation for temperature calibrations and weighing scales and balances calibrations, as well as operate a Quality Management System that meets the rigorous standards of ISO 9001:2005.
