Local calibration collection & delivery services

We’re not going to lie. We never set out to be the Amazon Prime of the calibration world. And we’re not. But we had a spare van that was parked up and not venturing very far.

Then we thought, why not launch our own local calibration collection and delivery service? We drive to you, collect your test equipment, bring it back to our laboratory, work our measuring magic, and then return it. Sounds like a lot of work doesn’t it? Thankfully, you don’t have to lift a finger, apart from to give us a ring or send us an email to get a quote and book a collection slot. Our driver typically does the collection rounds on a Monday, but we can pivot if needed. We then deliver back on the following Monday ensuring you're never without your equipment for long.

Initially, we thought let’s just tap into Lincolnshire’s rich engineering and manufacturing heritage, working with and supporting many of the fantastic businesses in the county with their measurements and testing processes. But by extending our collection and delivery service catchment area from 35 to 40 miles, we can now offer this convenient and often cost-effective calibration service to several larger cities, including Nottingham, Hull, and Sheffield.

AML’s local calibration collection and delivery service covers the following regions:

  • East Riding Of Yorkshire
  • Leicestershire
  • Lincolnshire
  • Nottinghamshire
  • South Yorkshire
  • West Yorkshire

Important: Don’t worry if your business is based outside of our local calibration collection and delivery area. You can send in your equipment to our lab or we have strategically-based engineers across the country carrying out onsite calibrations every week, as well as a number of express off-site calibration options available which we’ve covered further down the page.

Local calibration collection and delivery service

Is your business based within 40 miles of our calibration laboratory (postcode LN1 2WE) as the crow flies? Congratulations! You’re eligible for our local calibration collection and delivery service. Better still, you don’t have to move a muscle (other than to give us a call or email).

Check out our coverage area in the image below — note we now provide collection and delivery calibrations in Nottingham, Hull, and Sheffield.

AML Instrument’s local collection and delivery calibration service catchment area.

We’ll come pick up your test equipment, calibrate it back at our UKAS-accredited lab, and then drop it back off at your premises within five working days (turnaround time can be reduced via pre-agreement).

Please Note: We assess each calibration collection and drop-off service request individually to ensure it’s cost-effective for both parties. In some cases, we will allow some leeway on the 40 mile radius (as the crow flies), depending on the number of test instruments that need calibrating.

We calibrate onsite

Onsite calibration is still the most popular option when it comes to our calibration services, and for good reason. Our engineers travel to businesses, manufacturers, and researchers across the UK and beyond to calibrate test instruments in their working environment. You’ll benefit from faster turnaround times (onsite test instrument calibration work is typically completed the same day or within a few days) and minimal disruption to your operations.

Let’s set up a date and time for one of our engineers to come to your workplace, and we’ll do the rest.

Post your equipment to us instead

Many businesses send us their test instruments in the post. Again, we will work to a standard turnaround time of five working days, unless you opt for our 24-48 hour express service to ensure an even quicker turnaround. Rest assured, we’ll return your calibrated equipment back to you securely via UPS, with tracking details sent to you via email on the date of order shipment.

Calibrate while you wait

Ideal for testing tools like multimeters, thermometers, and torque wrenches, our “Calibrate While You Wait” service is designed for businesses located near to our facility or working in the surrounding area.

Give us a call or email with your preferred time and date, and we’ll check we have the necessary resources available. All you need to do then is bring us your gear and we’ll get to work calibrating your measuring equipment. In the meantime, you’re welcome to wait at our site and have a cuppa (the kettle is always on!).
