AML Instruments, specialists in test equipment calibration, repair, and supply are delighted to announce a new partnership with Barrus, one of Europe’s premium and trusted universal testing machine (UTM) manufacturers.
This collaboration will enable AML Instruments to supply the Barrus Grey and Barrus RED range of tensile testers. These machines are suitable for a wide range of tests, including compression, cyclic, flexure, peel, shear, and tensile.
Through the partnership, AML will make Barrus UTMs more widely available across the UK and provide responsive service and calibration support. Barrus machines are engineered for long-term durability and for precision, repeatability, and flexible integration from extensometers and grips to software and data export.
Crucially, every system includes the full, unrestricted software at no extra cost — there are no locked or paywalled functions. Together with AML’s service and calibration capabilities, this enables labs to scale testing with confidence across high-strength metals composites, packaging, and many other materials.
Made in Hungary’s capital Budapest, Barrus’s universal testing machines are used in a vast range of industries and applications. These include:
- Advanced material labs.
- Aerospace.
- Automotive.
- Educational labs for demonstration and foundational research.
- Electronics.
- Military
- Mobility.
- Packaging.
- Plastics.
Both single and twin column models are available for both the budget-friendly Barrus Grey and the high-end Barrus RED machines, with frame sizes ranging from 1kN to 2000kN. Barrus also manufacture heavy duty, four column floor-standing UTMs. Standard machines go from very low forces to 5000 kN (smaller or larger sizes can also be built, along with fully custom setups if needed).
