In-line measurement of appearance properties of transparent materials

The visible optical properties of transparent product are key to both the perceived quality and the functionality of the material. For instance a shipping label requires good clarity to ensure it can be read on a high speed conveyor, while a salad try which is often has recycled content should have low haze so that the consumer can see the colours of the packed salad.

Until now these key optical properties could only be measured offline, The Rhopoint ID-Inline allows constant measurement of a number of key properties with instant feedback to allow the continuous process fine tuning and therefore better quality product with consistent optical properties from the start of the run to the very end.

Rhopoint ID-Inline Versions

Two versions of the Rhopoint ID-Inline are available.

Short focal length, which has a 45 mm distance between the camera and graticule. This is best suited to measurement of films or glass in sheet form or inline measurement of glass and plastic tubes.

Long focal length  which has a 170mm distance between the camera and graticule. This is best suited to for online systems where a longer focal length would be beneficial

Measurement Station

Either version can be incorporated into an inspection station for 3D parts or large sheets of plastic or glass.
