Barrus MetalExt Clip-On Extensometer

Barrus MetalExt Clip-On Extensometer

Manufactured by Barrus

Available in four different gauge lengths (20mm, 25mm, 50mm, and 100mm), the Barrus MetalExt is based on a cost-effective, compact design, and simple operation for accurate axial strain measurement on metallic specimens.

It’s best suited for routine material testing applications and conventional metal testing where durability, ease of use, and consistent performance are key requirements.

Designed to be compatible with Barrus’s range of Barrus Grey and Barrus RED range of universal testing machines, it provides stable and precise strain readings, although it may influence more sensitive specimens.

Benefits

  • Mechanical design and fixed gauge length ensure reliable and repeatable results under standard tensile testing conditions.
  • Specifically designed to remain attached to the specimen even during fracture testing, eliminating the need for removal before test completion.
  • Direct contact measurement principle ensures accurate and stable strain readings.
  • Extensometer calibration service available.
