Shive Content of Pulp

Precise shive content measurements are very important when evaluating pulp quality. We supply the SF-10 Somerville type screen fractionator from Techlab Systems which provides shive analysis of pulps, and separation of stickies and plastics from recycled fibres.

As shives are common contaminants of produced pulps, accurate readings through regular calibration help prevent an excess of shives, which is a sign of poor impregnation of the wood chips.
