Onsite Gloss Meter Calibration

AML are unique in being the only company in the UK that are able carry out gloss meter calibration at your premises. This saves you significant time and the cost of sending your instrument back to the manufacturer for calibration. Our friendly engineers will work around your testing routine meaning minimum disruption.

Having us visit you can also be cost effective especially if you have more than one gloss meter or if you have other equipment we could calibrate at the same time. AML are able to offer a calibration service for a large range of equipment, see our other calibration pages for more details.

All gloss calibrations are fully traceable to National Standards though a ISO 17025 laboratory.

Offsite Gloss Meter Calibration

We of course offer an offsite service where you send in your gloss meter to us for calibration. Our typical turnaround is 5 days, if prearranged in advance this can be reduced to 24 hours.

Why Have Your Gloss Meter Calibrated?

So you’re thinking I calibrate my gloss meter every time I use it, so why pay for it to be calibrated again? When you perform the user calibration you’re only checking and adjusting it at a single point of its measuring range, also how do you know that your gloss tile is still as glossy as it was?

When AML calibrate your gloss meter we perform the following.

  • Clean optics and tile
  • Calibrate at 4 points across the range of the gloss meter
  • Check condition of optics and tile
  • Evaluate the value of the instruments own tile and re-enter this in the instrument for the user calibrations.

ISO 2813, ASTM D523, ASTM D2457, DIN 67530, JIS Z 8741, ISO 7668, TAPPI T480

We can calibrate all angles of measurement 20°, 45°, 60°, 75° & 85° our gloss tiles are ISO 17025 calibrated to ensure the highest level of accuracy. The lab we use has the lowest uncertainty of measurement in Europe for gloss measurement.
