Last week we installed a 100 kN Universal Testing Machine for our customer who are a leading composites manufacture in Gloucester.
The customer replaced two elderly 
Instron and Zwick Universal Testing Machines with our MTE-100 from Metrotec in Spain. The MTE-100 is a 100 kN Universal Testing Machine with advanced software suitable for making a wide range of tests on all types of material. Both Zwick and Instron had removed support from there materials testing machines leaving them little option other than to replace them.
As well as the MTE-100 we also supplied some 100 kN wedge grips based on the customers requirements we supplied the THS527-100 wedge grips These are ideal for testing composites materials due to the mode of operation where, during the test, the jaw position is stationary.
Our composites customer is going to be making tensile, compressive, 3 point bend and shear tests on their wide range of composites materials. During the quotation process we made recommendations to enable them to re-use existing fixtures to allow significant cost savings on the total project cost.
During the install we made some further recommendations on how they could significantly increase their testing speed and as a result we are supplying some additional fixtures.
