UVX3D Advanced Video Extensometer

UVX3D Advanced Video Extensometer

Manufactured by Imetrum

The UVX3D extensometer is the natural successor to previous generation video extensometers.

Suitable for both static and dynamic testing applications, it builds on the capability of Vector with the addition of their proprietary software, Video Gauge, enabling you to perform in-depth testing.

This gives you a live video feed to add virtual measurement tools such as extensometers, strain gauges, rotation tools, and full field DIC strain maps.

Two different models (the UVX3D 110 and UVX3D 220) of this non-contact extensometer are available, both capable of meeting Class B-1 (ASTM E-83) and Class 0.5 (ISO 9513) at the specified gauge lengths and strain ranges.

Benefits

  • Capable of measuring strain, rotation and extension in any orientation and providing outputs to a UTM load frame for further analysis such as tensile and compressive modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and R-value.
  • Precise measurement of material properties, including shear strain, rotation, buckling, and strain over multiple points to match individual users specific needs.
  • Produces a detailed video archive of specimen tests, enriching the understanding of material properties without physically touching the specimen.
  • Using stereoscopic technology, the UVX3D offers a flexible and tolerant working distance for a variety of machine, setup and specimen shapes, sizes, and geometries.
  • Eliminates errors due to out of plane movement or bending.
  • Ideal for determining low strain material properties (from 0.01%).
  • Alternative solution to contacting sensors, extensometers, LVDTs, and strain gauges.
  • Factory verified, ready to measure out of the box.
  • Mounts and interfaces directly to UTMs.
  • 1000 Hz measurement speed.
  • Suitable for ambient and non-ambient testing.
  • Calibration to ASTM E83 and ISO 9513.
  • Inbuilt lighting negates both environmental effects and emitted radiation from specimens tested at high temperature.
  • A marking kit is included with stamps, pens, and inks for a range of different specimens.
  • Digital Image Correlation strain and displacement maps available as an option.
  • Post processing available on all systems to reanalyse and reconfigure tests.

Suitable measurement applications

  • Uniaxial; Tensile, Compressive, Flexural or Shear.
  • Biaxial; Transverse, Dual-Average.
