TQC Sheen Pycnometer Density Cup

TQC Sheen Pycnometer Density Cup

Manufactured by TQC Sheen

Also known as a specific gravity cup or a density cup, the TQC Sheen Pycnometer is an easy-to-use measuring device for accurately measuring the density or specific gravity of liquids and solids.

It is manufactured with unerring precision to ISO 2811, DIN 53217, and ASTM D1475 standards. Choose from 50ml and 100ml sizes, with a choice of a durable aluminium or stainless steel pycnometer.

All models are supplied with a calibration certificate — don’t hesitate to contact us should you require pycnometer calibration services.

Benefits of a stainless steel pycnometer

While aluminium pycnometers offer advantages such as lower cost and lighter weight, a stainless steel pycnometer is still the preferred choice in many industrial and laboratory applications where precision and reliability are paramount. It offers the following benefits:

  • Superior corrosion resistance — Makes the pycnometer suitable for use in environments with harsh chemicals or high humidity. This resistance also ensures the longevity of the instrument and maintains its accuracy over time.
  • Enhanced durability — A stainless steel density cup can withstand rough handling and accidental impacts better than aluminium. This reduces the risk of damage to the pycnometer during use or transportation.
  • Easy cleaning and sterilisation — Stainless steel surfaces are smooth and non-porous, making them simply to clean and sterilise. This is imperative in applications were cleanliness and hygiene are paramount, such as in pharmaceutical or food industries.
  • Higher chemical compatibility — Stainless steel is compatible with a wide range of chemicals and solvents, making it practical for use with various types of liquids or substances without the risk of chemical reactions or contamination.
