Blocking Tests

Blocking tests are used to simulate real-world conditions where unwanted adhesion may occur between layers of materials such as cartons, films, or labels. This is especially prominent during storage in large rolls or stocks, where the materials are subjected to pressure and temperature.

Block test instruments like the Single Column Tensile Tester use specialised fixtures to measure the force required to separate blocked samples. They enable quality control inspectors to easily carry out block tests to international standards such as ISO and ASTM.
