Oven & Furnace Calibration

Whether it's forced air ovens, heat soak ovens, industrial ovens, or gargantuan furnaces big enough to drive a bus in, AML Instruments have the knowhow and resources to calibrate all types of ovens and furnaces. Whether you’re a clinical lab that uses vacuum ovens to dry samples in order to remove moisture from them, or a large-scale bakery with a high-temperature industrial oven, we understand the need for them to be calibrated to accurate temperatures. From a single position and single temperature calibration to 9 point oven calibration or a full thermal uniformity survey (TUS) using the latest data logging technology, choose from a vast range of oven and furnace calibration options and customise the calibration to your exact requirements.

Our oven calibration services

Onsite oven calibration

95% of our customers that need their ovens calibrating use this ultra-convenient service. Given the bulky size of lab ovens and furnaces, it’s easiest for our engineers to come to you and carry out an oven calibration procedure. This involves comparing the oven’s temperatures readings with a reference standard such as a thermometer until it matches the desired setting.

Better still, your equipment can remain in situ and you don’t have to worry about moving your heavy appliance(s), meaning you can get back to drying and heating in no time. Don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll get a date and time in the diary that suits you.

Offsite oven calibration

There’s always the option to send your lab oven to our in-house UKAS temperature laboratory in Lincolnshire. Please make sure you pack it correctly to prevent your lab oven from being damaged.

We’ll do the same once we’ve calibrated it, and return it securely via UPS within five working days. Every successful calibration is sent back with a furnace or oven calibration certificate for you to retain as proof of quality standards.

24-48 hour express service

If you need your calibrated oven back sooner, just ask about our express calibration service. Instead of five working days, we’ll have your oven back with 24-48 hours. Please note, this service requires pre-booking (not pre-heating).

Benefits of oven thermometer calibration

  • Ensures your lab oven or furnace is operating at the specified temperature.
  • Improves safety by eliminating inaccurate measurements. This is especially critical if you’re working with chemicals, food, hazardous materials, etc.
  • Performing calibrations at regular intervals prolongs your lab oven’s lifespan, prevents breakdowns, and ensure optimal performance.
  • Meet oven calibration or furnace calibration standards reduces the likelihood of products being recalled and research being repeated, which costs valuable time and money.

Oven and furnace calibration may also be referred to as oven temperature survey, oven temperature mapping, furnace temperature survey, or furnace temperature mapping. Whatever your laboratory or industrial oven calibration requirements, AML Instruments are here to help.

You can specify the following:

  • Number of positions within the chamber, 1 to 32 (as standard) and also the locations of the sensors.
  • Number of temperatures the oven will be calibrated at.
  • Length of time temperature will be monitored for.
  • Option for the controller and/or thermocouple to be calibrated at the same time (SAT system accuracy test).
  • Option to test the overheat system.
  • Specify which ISO, BS, ASTM, or AMS standard you need compliance with, or specify your own internal requirements or tolerances.
