All our electrical calibrations are performed fully to the manufacturer’s recommended calibration procedures and specifications, and we provide a traceable multimeter calibration certificate to verify your device’s accuracy.

Our multimeter calibration costs are as follows:

  • 4.5 digit multimeter calibration price: £44.50 (Shipping and VAT extra)
  • 5.0 digit multimeter calibration price: £58.50 (Shipping and VAT extra)
  • 6.5 digit multimeter calibration price: £68.50 (Shipping and VAT extra).
We’re happy to come to you

We understand being without your tester for days is costly and inconvenient, which is why we’re more than happy to travel to your workplace to ensure a fast turnaround and limited downtime.

While our on-site engineer is busy checking your multimeter’s performance meets the required standards, have a think if you have any other types of testing equipment that might need tuning up. Don’t dither in letting the engineer or our customer support team know and we’ll get something sorted.

Send your multimeter to us

Along with our onsite multimeter calibration service, feel free to send your multimeter to our premises in Lincolnshire. While we don’t usually arrange the collection of your multimeter, we’ll gladly organise the return via UPS.

Depending on the weight, we’ll do everything in our power to deliver your multimeter(s) back in one consignment and net some eco-friendly brownie points in the process.

Unless you opt for our express 24 hour service, we’ll have your multimeter(s) back to you in five working days.

Calibrate while you wait service

That’s right, have a ride out to us and enjoy a cuppa while we get your multimeter measuring meticulously. Calibration of a multimeter takes around 30 minutes, so this service is ideal if you’re in a rush or need multimeter calibration at short notice.

All we ask is you ring us first to book, as we are unable to accommodate any walk-ins.

Do multimeters need to be calibrated?

A multimeter is a precision tool used to measure voltage, current, and resistance in electrical circuits. They play a pivotal part in many industries, including automotive, construction, electronics, and telecommunications.

Like all handheld digital devices, they lose accuracy over time due to several reasons:

  • Degradation of internal components.
  • Daily wear and tear.
  • Changes in temperature and humidity.
  • Misuse, mistreatment or a severe drop.

Electricity is not to be messed with. Regular calibration of your multimeter prevents you from chasing non-existing faults due to incorrect measurements, and means you can make informed decisions based on reliable data. It also reduces the heightened risks associated with inaccurate voltage readings, such as electric shock or equipment damage.

Frequent multimeter calibration also helps your company comply with strict standards and regulations that mandate the use of calibrated equipment, avoiding potential legal and financial repercussions.

How often should a multimeter be calibrated?

For the above reasons, most leading brands recommend you send your multimeter off annually to a certified laboratory like ours for calibration. If it’s being used in an extreme environment, you should consider a three or six month calibration cycle.
