Benefits
- Dual slots and multiple scales ensure accurate, reliable results for quality control.
- Enables fast and reliable determination of particle size and fineness of grinding
- Ideal for paints, varnishes, lacquers, inks, and even food and pharmaceutical products.
- Equipped with micron scales and Hegman-NS scale for accurate readings.
- Two measuring slots for double determination, simplified cleaning, and electrically inscribed scales for easy readjustment.
- Portable: Compact and lighter design with a hardened scraper included in a leather case.
- Avoids films with poor brightness and weak protection due to under-ground pigments.
- Reduces unnecessary grinding costs.
- Determines the most efficient grinding procedure for each product.
How to Use Your Precision Grindometer
- Pour a few drops of the sample into the deepest part of the grindometer slot.
- Use the scraper at a slight angle to spread the product across the slot.
- Hold the grindometer at eye level and read the scale NS or FPVPC where pigment particles are visible.
- For volatile paints, read within 15 minutes; for synthetic enamels and oils, read within one minute.
Tips For Accuracy:
- Avoid using hot freshly-ground paint on a cold grindometer to prevent coagulation.
- Thin high-viscosity paints with 10–15% high-volatility solvent for smooth readings.
- Paints with spillage time <15 seconds (DIN cup) may not provide precise measurements.
- Keep the grindometer at eye level, use the scraper at a slight angle, and read scales where pigment particles are visible.
- Avoid hot samples and excessive viscosity.
Suitable Applications
- Airless spray applications requiring precise nozzle selection.
- Food industry (e.g., chocolate).
- Paint, varnish, lacquer, and ink production.
- Pharmaceutical industry (e.g., creams).
