Benefits
- Accurately evaluates both the adhesion and flexibility of the coating when subjected to controlled embossing.
- High-resolution digital measurement: Depth measured with 0.01mm precision and immediate reading.
- Precise speed control: 0.25 mm per turn, complying with ISO 1520 (0.2 – 0.3 mm/sec).
- Smooth and constant advance: Mechanical design requires minimal manual effort.
- In case of wear, the dial gauge can be easily replaced, ensuring a long service life of the equipment.
How Does The CT15 Manual Digital Cupping Tester Work?
The equipment simulates the deformation of the coating using a 20 mm sphere that presses the sample until cracks appear. During the test, the depth reached is recorded accurately, allowing analysis of:
- Appearance of cracks due to stress.
- Adhesion of the coating to the substrate.
- Mechanical behaviour of the material under bending or stretching.
This method ensures reliable results for quality control laboratories and coating development.
Typical Applications & Materials
This test instrument can be used on aluminium, galvanised steel, and other coated materials, simulating deformations that occur under real bending or stretching conditions. As well as the coating, painting, and steel protection sectors, it’s also effective for Quality and certification laboratories (Qualicoat, GSB, QUIB), and tests on galvanised or aluminium materials.
