How Does The Buchholz Hardness Tester Work?

The test involves placing a sharp-edged metal wheel (500 g) on the coating for 30 seconds. Once removed, the mark it leaves is examined using a 20x illuminated microscope.

The shorter the indentation, the harder the coating. This method allows for consistent and repeatable evaluations of coating performance.
