AML Instruments Ltd is a UKAS-accredited company that supplies and repairs calibration and test equipment. We are looking for an Apprentice Calibration Engineer. We will train the successful candidate across various calibration disciplines such as mass, dimensional, electrical, rheology, torque, temperature, optical, force and pressure.

Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 15:30 & Friday 07:00 – 15:00. Total hours per week: 40

What Will the Apprentice Be Doing?
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Learn to calibrate a wide range of test and measuring equipment.
- Learn about metrology.
- Learn to become a UKAS-approved calibration engineer.
- Take part in external and internal audits.
- Be part of a small yet growing team
- Learn about quality systems.
- Learn how to make repairs on electromechanical systems
- Liaise with customers and suppliers.
- Participation in external training
- Opportunity to continue the apprenticeship to a level 3 qualification.
- Opportunity to become a permanent member of the team on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
What Training Will the Apprentice Take and What Qualification Will the Apprentice Get at the End?
The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Engineering Operative Level 2.
The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course. This is a Day Release programme which means you will attend Lincoln College, 1 day per week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.
What is the Expected Career Progression After this Apprenticeship?
Become a full-time calibration engineer, either lab or site-based. With further experience become a head of department.

Must be able to get to our office at 07:00 each day. Note our location is rural.
