Surface Tension - Contact Angle

Measuring contact angle and surface tension gives you an indication of how well (or how poorly) liquids distribute on surfaces. This information on the “wettability” of a solid surface is vital for industries like paints and coatings to ensure optimal and uniform application.

An optical tensiometer (also called a contact angle meter or goniometer) is typically used to quantify the wetting of a solid by a liquid. They make surface tension and surface free energy (SFE) inspections quick, easy, and non-destructive.
