Haze Reflectance

Specialised instruments like the Novo-Gloss Trio Gloss Meter Hazemeter are used to test reflection haze. This is the milky halo evident on high-gloss finishes that reduces clarity or sharpness of the surface.

Haze reflectance is caused by micro textures on a coated surface, with common applications including ensuring the quality of highly polished surfaces (e.g. metals) and monitoring the coating consistency of industrial paints.
