Conductivity & pH Calibration Service | AML Instruments

Conductivity & pH Calibration Service

Available Onsite & Offsite

pH and conductivity measurements are used in a wide range of applications, from agriculture and chemical production to food processing and water analysis. They’re carried out using pH and conductivity meters, which are designed to provide a cost-effective, fast, reliable, and robust way to measure the pH and ionic content of liquids.

However, highly accurate and repeatable pH and conductivity measurements are only possible with regular conductivity and pH meter calibration. As well as these type of laboratory meters, AML Instruments can also calibrate industrial inline probes and meters used in processing / manufacturing chemicals and food stuffs.

We will adjust your conductivity meters and pH meters to ensure they meet your needs, by using the manufacturer’s recommended tolerances or ones suited to your application. If agreed in advance, we can provide custom calibration points using specialist standards and buffers.

We can calibrate your pH and conductivity meters onsite or offsite, with all our calibrations traceable to national standards. Read on for guidance around pH meter calibration frequency, and our pH and conductivity meter calibration services. Alternatively, use one of the contact methods in the red box below to send us a calibration request.

Onsite conductivity and pH meter calibration

Minimum disruption. Maximum satisfaction. Get in touch and we’ll arrange one of our engineers to come to your facility and calibrate your conductivity and pH meters on a day and time to suit you. This option also means your pH and conductivity meters are calibrated within the environmental conditions in which they’re normally used.

Send us your conductivity and pH measuring equipment

Our standard off-site calibration turnaround time is five working days. All you need to do is post us your pH and conductivity meters to our in-house laboratory in Lincolnshire, and we’ll get them calibrated and sent back to you securely via UPS.

This can be reduced to 24-48 hours by prior agreement.

Why calibration of a pH meter is important

Whether your meter are being utilised in critical or routine applications (in the lab or the field), calibration is a vital step in ensuring your pH and conductivity measurements are on-point.

Over time, the performance of the electrodes may degrade, causing readings to drift. Factors such as contamination, wear and tear, environmental conditions, and physical damage to the probe can all influence the reliability of your pH data.

By regularly calibrating your pH meters and conductivity meters, you’ll have the peace of mind your test instrument is performing as expected and within the manufacturer’s specification. It also means industry or laboratory compliance requirements will be met.

How often should a pH meter be calibrated?

You should calibrate your pH meter according to its frequency of use, environmental conditions, and accuracy level requirements. For high-accuracy measurements (≤ ±0.02pH), you should calibrate your meter before each use. This is also the case if your conductivity and pH meter has been in prolonged storage or the electrode has been cleaned or replaced.

For periodic use, pH meter and conductivity meter calibration frequency should still be regular (most manufacturers recommend calibration every six months). Either way, regular calibration of your conductivity and pH meter is essential to ensure its accuracy and longevity.

If you’re unsure, refer to the manufacturer’s book for guidance or speak to a member of our knowledgeable team for more information on the calibration of pH meters.
