Job Vacancy Engineering Clark / Administrator

AML Instruments is a small family business, we are a growing and ambitious company who are very enthusiastic about this industry sector. We specialise in the calibration and repair of instrumentation used in quality control and production processes we also supply new and used test equipment.

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Clark / Administrator for a small yet busy office. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the office and report directly to the Managing Director. A large proportion of your time will be alone in the office. After a period of training we will require you to perform a small number calibrations in the laboratory, on occasions at a customer sites.

Key Tasks

  • Sending out quotations and service reminders

  • Generating Invoices and Purchase Orders

  • Booking appointment, hotels and transport arrangements for engineers

  • Organising couriers to collect and deliver parcels. Including parcelling up equipment.

  • Answering the phone and emails, assisting customers and suppliers.

  • Maintaining databases and creating job cards

  • Performing basic calibration tasks (after training)

  • Assist in maintaining our quality and health & safety management systems

  • Basic Bookkeeping

  • Updating of company website

  • General office duties

Location

Hemswell Village, North of Lincoln and to the East of Gainsborough. (note new office location)

Hours

35 hours per week – Monday to Friday 8am to 3pm (with some degree of flexibility).

Salary

£14,500 per annum with clear objectives / routes for progression.

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent computer skills particularly Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Enthusiastic, friendly and hard working personality

  • A passion and proven record for customer service

  • Be reliable with good time keeping and flexible attitude

  • Be able to work unsupervised and alone in the office

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Have an ability to prioritise and organise your own work load

  • Have own car and driving licence with less than 6 points

  • Wiliness to learn basic calibration skills

  • Like small dogs, we have a shih tzu and she will be in the office most of the time.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working in an engineering environment

  • Knowledge / experience of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001)

  • Knowledge / experience of Health & Safety Management Systems

  • Business to Business sales

  • Knowledge of sage / basic book keeping
