The Novo-Gloss 60° gloss meter is suitable for measuring gloss in most applications from matt to high gloss finishes. 60° Glossmeters are considered the universal gloss meter. Manufactured in the UK by Rhopoint Instruments.

This high specification handheld instrument is suitable for use in many environments including laboratory and production areas and is the ideal choice for general gloss measurements of a variety of substrates and industry sectors including paints and coatings.

The angle reference is the angle between the incident and reflected light. The three common angles are 20°, 60°, and 85° these cover most of industries coatings applications.

Gloss Range 60° Value Notes
High Gloss >70 GU If measurement exceeds 70 GU, measure at 20°
Medium Gloss 10 – 70 GU Measurements at 60°
Low Gloss <10 GU If measurement is less than 10 GU, measure at 85°
